My first campus session – module 2

I attended my first session of module 2 last Tuesday which dotted some i’s and crossed some t’s for me, as trying to get my head around all of the readers has been a little confusing.
Hearing everyones views was great and put a different spin on this module.

We discussed in detail about our perfect question and how to go about sourcing this information – such-as questionnaire’s, which I believe had a lot of discussion in the 1st campus session, see below a few of the ideas I picked up including tips...

-Don’t focus on finding out the answers to the questions you ask you have to be interested in the top of the question for the answer to have depth.

-With regards to questionnaire’s and interviews, it is important the way you ask the question, so as not to confuse your answerer.  Be mindful they may not understand your topic  to a level you do and further explanations may be needed.

-Your whole enquiry for module 2 can be about finding the perfect question.  Don’t put too much pressure on yourself trying to find the perfect quuestion straight away, use this module to develop ideas.

-Every question is unique, use literature to help broaden your views  and ideas behind your enquiry.

We also discussed professional ethics, and our understanding of ethos and how it can affect every action.  See a list of ideas we discussed below...

Ethics in my opinion are,

-Ethos, literally meaning ‘character’
-Values
-Morals
-Subject to change in different situations, geography etc.
-Beliefs and cultural backgrounds
-Code of conduct (in the workplace)
-Split into 3 types, professional / personal / organisational
-Society are necessarily founded by ethos
-Tend to promote good and prevent harm (discussion point with regards to Case study 2 in reader 5, Ehtics in Photography)
-Affect your priorities in different situations

A really good point I took away from the session is...
Ethics never changes it is your approcah to ethis that is ever-changing.
Stated by Adesola Akinleye

It is going to be tricky juggling a full-time job at the busiest retail time of the year, but I endevour to complete module 2 with a wider knowledge and understanding of professional ethics, as well as feeling closer to discovering my perfect question title!

Let's all help one another and get those thinking caps on!!
